　　记者从中国科学院国家天文台获悉，截至目前，被誉为“中国天眼”的500米口径球面射电望远镜(FAST)已发现超900颗新脉冲星，其中FAST优先和重大项目之一的银道面脉冲星巡天项目发现了650余颗脉冲星。900余颗脉冲星中至少包括120颗双星脉冲星、170颗毫秒脉冲星、80颗暗弱的偶发脉冲星，这些发现极大拓展了人类观察宇宙视野的极限。

　　据了解，从1967年人类发现第一颗脉冲星到FAST在2017年10月发现首颗脉冲星的50年里，全世界总共发现的脉冲星只有3000多颗。“中国天眼”目前已发现的脉冲星数量，是国际上同时期其他望远镜发现脉冲星总数的3倍以上。另外，“中国天眼”拓展了人类对脉冲星辐射强度的观测范围，其发现的900余颗新脉冲星中，大多数是世界其他望远镜难以发现的暗弱脉冲星。

　　专家介绍，最新发现的近百颗暗弱的偶发脉冲星与正常脉冲星相比，辐射流量密度要低一个量级。对这些偶发脉冲星的研究对于理解银河系中恒星死亡后形成多少致密中子星残骸以及揭示未知的脉冲辐射物理过程具有重要意义。

　　目前，FAST每年观测时间稳定在5300小时左右，为持续产出科研成果起到了重要的支撑作用。
